Battery not detected

I have an X230, 1.5 years old with original battery. The machine is no longer detecting the battery. I can run the machine (so far) off of the AC power. Any suggestions as to the problem and how to fix it?

Same problem here with my X230 44++ battery. Other 44++ batteries I own worked fine, I called warranty dept. and talked polite and was granted a new 44++ battery in exchange for the "defective" one.

You might try cleaning the contacts on the battery and in the battery bay. If that doesn't resolve the issue, it sounds like the battery's on-board charge circuitry has become defective.
