770 Bios Upgrade (Again)

#1 Post by bikereff » Sun May 22, 2005 2:35 am

Hello to all,

I have a 770Z that upgraded to a PIII 500Mhz system. Currently it is running well with Win98SE installed. I have WinXP upgrade available but I cannot install without the bios upgrade. I've tried 3 different batteries but they all will not take a charge (they are old ones that I have borrowed).

I know that the 600 has a work around for installing the bios upgrade without a good battery, but I am looking for a way to do it on the 770Z. It keeps looking for a charged battery. Has anyone out there been successful with the upgrade without a good battery?

Any help or success stories would be appreciated.
