GMA965 [X3100] Onboard Graphics at 266mhz FSB . Help!

#1 Post by rambooc » Tue Aug 05, 2014 12:05 pm

Hi
I have overclocked my Lenovo T61 laptop, by changing the fsb from 200 to 266. My Lenovo uses the intel GMA965 (X3100) Onboard graphics, so increasing the FSB has also overclocked it. Now I have run into a problem, where if I install the graphic drivers, I will get black screen as soon as I boot into windows. Can I fix this?
Can I can overvolt the onboard graphics?
Can I underclock the onboard graphics?

The RAM clock also rises from 333 MHz (DDR2-667) to 443 MHz, which is 43 MHz above DDR2-800. There is the possibility to edit the SPD of one of your RAM sticks to change that to 354 MHz. Doing so will also reduce the render clock of the intel gpu. See this table: http://abload.de/image.php?img=tabelleoct0unm.jpg (image link 55,13 KB)

My intel gpu runs ok with DDR2-800-RAM at 443 MHz. But I did edit the SPD to have higher timings.
If you have DDR2-667-modules, this will most likely be the reason for instabilities and a change to DDR2-800-modules should solve the stability issues in most cases.
