x41 Tablet won't start up

#1 Post by bgardner » Sat Aug 16, 2014 12:26 am

New to forum so please excuse redundant question.
I have X41 with factory hard disk that won't boot.
I bought it about 8 years ago and I don't think it came with a bootable CD. And of course I do not have a system back-up.
Using the blue Access IBM button at start-up doesn't help. In fact the 'Restore your system' option in Rescue and Recovery tells me to have 3 formatted floppy disks.
Do I need to find a CD with the Windows XP Tablet software in order to get the thing to run?

Sounds as though something damaged the factory restore. Never a good idea to be without a backup or at least make the factory recovery discs. You won't get one from Lenovo now, too old, I suggest you look on eBay & see if you can get a factory CD. You should be able to find the part number by Googling it.
