WTB: 42W3011 or 41V9908 [= palmrest w/FPR for 15" T60p]

Hello everybody,

Wanted to check with forum members if anybody has a palmrest for a T60p 15" with fingerprint reader. Would like it with the touchpad assembly and connecting cable.

Part numbers: 42W3011 or 41V9908. I assume 41V9908 is the older one with the IBM logo. My current one has a hairline crack each on either side.

Feel free to PM or reply with pics, availability and cost including shipping to NZ.

Good luck hunting; I think that this part may be a bit difficult to find. Maybe on Taobao?

Just discovered there are three part numbers to this - 42W3139, 42W3011, 41V9908. Any one will fit. But they aren't listed in Lenovo's parts site. Anyhow, the palmrest seems difficult to come by. With three screen sizes (14.1, 15, 15.4) and two configurations (with/without fingerprint reader), it's easy to end up with the wrong one if there aren't any pictures on ebay. Part numbers are never listed. However, the distance between the arrow keys and the edge on the right side, and the distance between the mic and the edge on the left side is a good way of making sure if it's a 14, 15 or 15.4. So far, haven't come across photos that match the 15 inch one.

Misleadingly, they are all posted as palmrests for T60/T61, when a T61's structure (placement of external mic and headphone and mic ports) is very different from the T60.

Anyway, the search is on. I would have got it from Lenovo, but after my fan episode, never going to go to them for support.

Hello all,

Just to inform readers of this post that I finally got my palmrest replaced. Got it from my contacts in IBM India. My machine has a fingerprint reader. But got one for a 15 inch T60 without fingerprint reader. Part number in my palmrest now is 41V9907.

In case any one is interested, the part number for the palmrest that was in my machine (the one with the cracks) is 26R9411. This is for 15 inch 4:3 T60 with fingerprint reader. Do note that when I purchased the T60p, it had a different palmrest with an IBM logo and ATI, Intel and Windows stickers. I had once given my laptop for a depot warranty service in India around 2010. When it came back, it had 26R9411 -- without IBM logo and stickers and only a Thinkpad T-series badge. Though this part number -- 26R9411 -- is nowhere listed in the current Lenovo service and parts page for the T60 series.
