I wonder how much I can get for my used convertible tablet. I bought it refurbished for $821 including tax in June 2013.
It's not in the best condition. The screen hinge works fine, but the screen easily falls down flat when opened past 110 degrees (safe to keep it at 95~105 degrees) from viewing angle in laptop mode.
It's same model (3435) as this on cdw for 997.99 USD, with detailed specs:
http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/Lenovo ... 54086.aspx
When I bought it, to buy new from Lenovo or other 3rd-party vendors, it cost between 1200 to 1400 USD for same or similar specs.
------------------------------------
Here are the specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Intel Core i5 3320M CPU 2.6GHz, 2.6 GHz
4GB RAM (DDR-3 SDRAM, PC3-12800, 1600 MHz, 1 slot)
500GB 7200rpm HDD (hgst hts725050 - http://www.pbs-video.com/hitachi-hts725 ... anguage=us)
6 cell battery (3~4 hours web surfing, listening to music... 1.5 hours if video skype)
12.5 " 1366 x 768 pixels IPS screen with gorilla glass (16:9, anti-reflective, anti-glare wide view)
Wacom touch and pen
Intel HD 4000 graphics
3.67 lbs
3 USB ports
I also have docking port that goes along with it with CD/DVD RW drive.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
What it does not have:
- Keyboard is not backlit, and I don't think it's spill resistant either... (will talk more about it below)
-----------------------------------
It's really great to use in tablet mode for digital art and drawing on GIMP or Photoshop, as well as taking notes for studying. I really like the screen because its colors are quite accurate and not bluish like my dell laptop (also brighter and crisper).
I was able to draw this with this tablet using program GIMP. The wacom touch is really sensitive and great for drawing:

I am just annoyed by how the screen falls flat past 110 degrees, or if I accidentally push it over with my digitizer pen while in laptop mode.
It has several other problems as well:
- The "ThinkPad" logo on the right-side palm rest fell off.
- And I also dropped it once, so very small bit of plastic is broken off to the corner edge of the left palm rest.
- The motherboard is damaged with water. So usually the computer restarts right after being turned off (although recently, it stopped doing that), so I need to push the power button right after it restarts with logo screen, which then makes a beep and turns off completely.
- Which is also why the computer also cannot go into hibernate or sleep mode. It turns back on immediately.
- Always, ctrl key on left does not work. ctrl key on right works usually, but sometimes does not and needs to wait, or restart computer. Both alt keys work fine.
- It also has dust and bits of paint on the computer, but I think that can be cleaned.
Keyboard is still really great to type with.
Would it be a good time to sell now to get any price on it (since most laptops nowadays aren't much faster than when I bought this)? I wish to get a convertible tablet laptop with more processor and memory to work on really high resolution digital art. I am thinking of the ThinkPad Yoga 2.
How much would I get if I were to sell it?
Or would it be better to live with the problems and try to use the laptop as long as possible, and perhaps try fix the screen hinge (which I am most bothered with) through Lenovo repair service?
Thanks.
