Volume Keys Dont work After Upgrade to Win 7 on T61p

I installed all of the upgrades recommended by Lenovo System Update but the volume keys (hardware Keys on the top left of the keyboard) do not function.

I did find one post that said to check that 3 services were running (Automatic). I did that and those services were running.

Any other suggestions on how I can get them to work is appreciated.

Reinstall Windows 7 from scratch.
