[SOLVED] T60 Keyboard Issue

#1 Post by Kura » Wed Aug 27, 2014 11:21 pm

I recently bought a new T60 keyboard and just swapped my old one out. After booting it up to device boot menu, I noticed the up-arrow key didn't work. I selected my usb so I could start installing Slackware, but then I noticed other keys wouldn't work. The g/h/esc/'/]/= to name a few. Thinking I just bought a bad keyboard, I swapped the old one back in and it had the same issue.
That really doesn't make any sense to me. The original keyboard always worked fine before I swapped it out. The only thing I can think of is that I damaged the connector piece on the motherboard, but it looks fine to me so I really have no idea on what the issue is.

I miraculously just fixed it. It seems the connector piece on the keyboard's cable was not set properly the last two times I switched keyboards. I really glad that's all the issue was.
Anyway, I guess this small thread can be a reminder to others to make sure your computer components are properly seated before going to ask for help.
