eGPU with T420 - video editing

I am by no means a gamer; heck I need God Mode to play Freecell, but I if possible I might at some time like to boost my graphics power when I do video editing using Sony Movie Studio Platinum. I had read some time back of people using eGPU for better game play and was wondering if anyone here has used it.
