Screen callibration?

#1 Post by p0ser » Mon May 23, 2005 12:09 am

What software should I use to callibrate my screen colors? I have a T42 with a 1400 x 1050 screen - I would appreciate any suggestions and tips. Thanks!

a search of google yields quite a few sites that show the standard images for gamma and other adjustments along with some instructions on how to use them.

the color adjustment controls besides the brightness are in your display properties and require the vendor provided (ATI, Intel or S3, for example) drivers to be loaded.

You might try Monaco XR.
Good discussion here:

Not sure for what purpsoe you need calibration mind you.
There's a default profile you can install as well (not that his is an issue of calibration per se):

If you want to calibrate your monitor to edit digital photos, do the following:

Download the following programs from Norman Koren's website:

PraziSoft WYZIWYG and QuickGamma

http://www.normankoren.com/makingfineprints1A.html

Run Prazisoft WYZIWYG first and then QuickGamma...detailed instructions are available at the website above and also in the help files for each program. Create your profile, save it and tell your photo-editing software to use the profile you have created....

Hope this helps

I have had nothing but problems calibrating my 2373-7fu (ati 7500) with the GretagMacBetch Eye-One Display.

During the calibration process, the lcd takes on a brown-orange tint and simply stays that way from that point on, even after reboots.

The only way I've found to reset it, is to go into the desktop properties, settings/advanced page then clicking on the 'color' tab. After that, the colors stay neutral until the next reboot, where they go back to the mis-calibrated brown-orange color.

I can't speak for other Thinkpad models and/or other calibration tools, but the Eye-One Display and the 2373-7fu does NOT work well together.
