Which BluRay Ultrabay Combo Writer Drive for a W500?

#1 Post by Delmarco » Wed Sep 03, 2014 5:53 pm

Trying to decide what to buy here. It seems the cheaper of the two drives, the UJ-260, is faster and better but may not work on the W500 since it is an enhanced. What should I buy?
Thanks.

I believe the W500 uses a 9.5mm bay, so the 12.7mm UJ-260 won't work.

Yeah it looks like 232A will have to do. Anyone used this drive? is it okay? or rather is it worth $100+?

What's your goal? I have a UJ-240 that I rarely use. If you're looking for a back up solution, an external drive is a more cost effective solution.
