ThinkPad USB keyboard, dual monitor, scroll cursor "stuck"

#1 Post by twistero » Mon Sep 08, 2014 1:56 pm

I have a ThinkPad USB keyboard with TrackPoint, connected to a Surface Pro 3 dock. The SP3 is set up to for dual monitor: built-in LCD and external Dell LCD. It runs Windows 8.1 as usual.

If I set TrackPoint scrolling to "standard" via Control Panel - Mouse Properties, middle button scrolling works on both monitors, however, once I scroll on the secondary monitor, the mouse cursor gets stuck on the "mouse over scroll bar" cursor, and does not change back into the normal cursor after the middle button is released.

If I move the mouse across to the primary monitor, the normal cursor returns, but as soon as the mouse is back on the secondary monitor the cursor change to the scrolling cursor. The only way to get rid of it is to disconnect the secondary monitor.

Obviously this is very inconvenient. Does anyone have similar problems? Is there a solution other than "do not use standard scrolling"?
