There any significant difference in operation? I had an electrician once tell me if the machine is set up for a 3 prong which my current 600x is, not a good idea to go to 2 prong.
Anybody know?

Re: 3 prong vs 2 prong power adapter
There should be no operational differences between 2 and 3 prong plugs. It's more to do with safety. 3-prong equipment is generally seen as more safer with respect to accidental electrical shock, than 2 prong. However, this implies that the wall outlet is properly wired, something that may not always be true.

Re: 3 prong vs 2 prong power adapter
You are correct about house outlets. I bought a 75 yr old house that had been recently 'rewired'. Oddly enough, not one of the new three prong outlets had a ground on the 3rd prong. It was absolutely dead. I never asked the former owner how much she had paid for that but she considered it a selling point.
As for the computer, I think I was told that the 3rd prong grounds the chassis. Should a 'short' take place within the chassis causing it to get 'hot' you might be in for a big thrill.
Thanks for your response.
