Replacing X220

#1 Post by ThinkGreen » Tue Sep 09, 2014 5:41 pm

Considering only hp, lenovo and Dell products which could be a good replacement for x220, with similar or slightly better performance but a really good keyboard and a straight display?
Could the hp 2570p be a valid alternative?

Thks

I don't see anything in the HP keyboard which would be better than the keyboard on the new Lenovo offerings.

If you are looking for something which will have a keyboard like the X220, but newer than the X220 - there is nothing like that.
Current: X220 4291-4BG, T410 2537-R46, T60 1952-F76, T60 2007-QPG, T42 2373-F7G
Collectibles: T430s (IPS FHD + Classic Keyboard), X32 (IPS Screen)
Retired: X61 7673-V2V, A31p w/ Ultrabay Numpad
Past: Z61t 9440-A23, T60 2623-D3U, X32 2884-M5U

No, I don't want a like x220 keyboard, simply I'd like a better keyboard in terms of typing and responsiveness.
(For example... my old 6510b had a better keyboard than lenovo)

Other products like samsung ativ or business series of hp could not be valuable in this context ?

Your 6510b had a better keyboard than which Lenovo? And what, in your opinion, made it better?

Understanding your criteria for a better keyboard is important, if there is any chance to find one that suits your needs.

Have you been having typing and responsiveness issues with your X220 keyboard? Which ones?

For that matter, I have not heard of any issues of such kind with any Thinkpad keyboard, new or old.

Durability, more resistant and a better feeling. And it is older at least of 4 years...

However I've just obtained from lenovo a replacement for the keyboard of x220, we'll see...
