T410 and T520 parts needed

#1 Post by FunkyRes » Fri Sep 19, 2014 9:18 pm

Technically my T520 is still under warranty but I don't think it covers this as it is cosmetic.

On the right hand side below the keyboard near the log, coming from the latch to open it, a crack has formed.

Anyone know the part number I need to order to fix that?

-=-

T410 is in perfect working order but needs a new keyboard, two of the keys get stuck sometimes. FRU number for that?

I'm getting 45N2071 45N2141 45N2211 which all look the same, is there a difference?

And is there a screw kit for screws that shouldn't be re-used?

Thanks for suggestions

Okay I think the T520 part I need is a Palm Rest FRU 04W1365

I know I don't have a finger print reader. I'm not sure what it is referring to by a Color Sensor but I don't think I have one.

SmartCard Reader I think I have one but never use it, is that the slot on the UltraBay side, bottom left of the headphone jack?

The slot below the express card is for an SD (memory) card. (like the ones used on many cameras) The smart card is on the other side. Most machines sold in U.S. don't have them - mostly used in Europe and Australia. If you don't know what the color sensor is, you don't have one - mostly used on W520, and then, only a few models. The different keyboard part numbers are different manufacturers. Some people have preferences, I don't worry about it. I only use new screws on fan assemblies on older machines that use normal screws. Otherwise, I reuse. Newer fans have screws that are part of the cooling assembly.
