[SOLVED] "Windows detected a hard disk problem" t410s
Sorry if this has been covered, my search did not find it. About every 10 minutes, I get a popup that says, "Windows detected a hard disk problem." The message goes on to say, "The following disks are reporting failure," then lists my Samsung 128GB Solid State drive. I have run SSDLife, HD Tune, and Samsung Magician. Neither of them detects any problem with drive.
I'd hate to purchase and install an expensive new SSD when the diagnostics are telling me nothing is wrong with this one. I am running Win7 on the T410s. Any ideas.?
Thanks in advance,
anthony

I would be sure to have a current backup before anything else.
How about running the Windows 7 chkdsk utility? Details can be found here.

Re: "Windows detected a hard disk problem" t410s
Samsung Magician should have an option to run the trim command manually. Try that? How's your free space? I recommend 20% or more.
But I would also ensure I have good backup.
The T410s takes a smaller physical drive IIRC. If you have to replace it, I do know that there are adapters that will let you from the 1.8" form factor to mSATA and you can use a cheaper drive.
I still recommend the EVO and PRO lines from Samsung. I also hear the Crucial M4 is pretty good. I know you said you don't want to buy a new drive, but my gut tells me you are going to need one. You should also weigh the cost of what you think the data is worth to you vs. the price of a new SSD.

I needed more space anyway, so upgraded to 512 SSD. So I guess I can mark this "solved." Thanks.

Well, not really, since we never found out what the problem was.
However, great to hear that your system has been running well.
