Thinkpad 701c screen problems (pictures)

#1 Post by x220 » Tue Oct 28, 2014 3:01 am

Hello all,

I am experiencing some problems with the screen on a 701c.

Down the right hand side of the screen there is an approx 1" wide strip that is slightly darker than it should be, when the background is black or white the colours are displayed correctly.

Sometimes if the lid is moved this area of the screen, as well as the section to the right of the line flickers.

Does this sound like a faulty LCD or a faulty cable.

Sounds more like a cable issue if the problem changes with movement. Fortunately dissassembly isn't too difficult.
