Hello, I want to sell or swap a FrankenPad kit/parts. Bought some of these parts/laptops a while ago, but then I convert my own T60 into FrankenPad. As I no longer need them, I decided to finish it or just sell it "as is".
The kit consists of:
1) bottom cover/base with enlarged air vents for better cooling; HDD cover, HDD caddy, mounting screws and rubber rails;
2) 15" frame (including BIOS battery, power jack, speakers, USB plate, interposer board, heatsink bracket and CPU support plate), modified for T61 motherboard, including possibility to add a modem card - see this thread for additional info regarding my type of frame modification and larger air vents;
3) keyboard bezel and palm rest with no signs of wear/shine;
4) full lid assembly with SXGA+ IPS LCD screen - I can't tell you the manufacturer/FRU of the screen and the inverter board, because I've never disassembled it, but if you really insist, I will check them. The screen has one (or few side by side) stuck or dead pixels or just dust in there (can't figure out what exactly is), doesn't have any darker areas or scratches. It's not as bright as new one, but the white color looks like white, not yellowish. I don't have equipment to determine the brightness level, and I'm not sure if replacing the backlight will improve it. Overall, I think that it is acceptable, unless you are not a perfectionist and the dot on the screen is gouging out your eyes. Also, I can exclude the screen if you don't need it.
The hinges has some little play – if you push the lid in some direction, you can feel it. The result is 1-2mm deviation in the upper part of the lid. Don't expect much of them - my own hinges were in this state about an year and a half ago, and now the deviation on my lid is about 8-10mm, but the worst thing is that when the lid stays open for a while, the hinges somehow become stuck. So, consider that you will need to replace these hinges.
The lid has usual signs of wear around the corners, under the IBM sticker there is some really noticeable wearing. I am going to spray my lid with Plasti Dip, so if you don't insist on original coating, I can spray that lid too, but can't tell you right now how it's gonna look alike.
If someone wants to complete the FrankenPad, I can offer also other parts like: some DVD-WR or HDD caddy, 2x2GB DDR2 SODIMM RAM modules; some keyboards - two UK keyboards - one of them is NMB, the other is ALPS, both are literally as new (by the way, I can source more NMB keyboards if someone is interested), and a german keyboard, also as new (right now I can't tell you the manufacturer); a genuine adapter – I think that 65W should be enough for machine with Intel GPU, and euro power cord if needed; and probably most important think - I can pull out a 42W7648 motherboard (Intel X3100 graphics) form working T61 in immaculate condition, loaded with Middleton BIOS and T7100 CPU, and install it including the modem card, with it's original heatsink or with T61 NVidia heatsink, or combination of T61 heatsink and T500 fan, whatever.
I may swap some parts or the unfinished FrankenPad for UXGA AAFS screen in perfect condition (or at least no spots or scratches, only backlight replacement needed), new hinges for 15” 4:3 T60, even a complete T60 UXAG lid assembly in perfect condition will be welcomed . I am restoring an R61 4:3 and intend to install my SXGA+ IPS screen on it, and use the UXGA screen in my FrankenPad. Or swap for some other parts, which I don't really need as 2x4GB DDR2 SODIMM RAM modules, a T9300/T9500 CPU if someone has a few of them, old nonworking NMB keyboard for Z60m (with black mechanisms) for parts.... I am still using mine perhaps 10 years old, but she needs some repair.
Excuse me if I don't answer immediately, but I am a bit busy right now.

Prices:
Bottom assembly (items 1, 2 and 3) – 70 EUR
Bottom assembly with 42W7648 motherboard, heatsink, modem, 4GB RAM, wifi, power adapter and T7100 CPU – 180 EUR
Lid assembly (item 4) – 40 EUR
Assembled FrankPad - including the metioned lid, DVD-RW, adapter, wifi, keyboard and heatsink by your choice or without some things - 250~300 EUR
I find it reasonable to offer the minor things that can be found locally only with an assembled system.
Ask me if you have something else in mind.
I will not sell just the motherboard or other T61's components unless I break it for the motherboard.
NMB keyboards 39T0982 – pff, don't know what to say. I have to search for them among a bunch of laptops which are not mine, and buy a complete system just for it, but.... lest say no less than 35-40 EUR. Right now I have one spare, but I prefer to give it with the machine.

As per the forum rules, you must post an asking price...
Good luck with the sale(s)/trade(s)...

Well, asking price of what exactly? I prefer to coplete the machine and get rid of most of the things, but someone may not need certain components. I will think and set prices, but I thought that is more a matter of agreement.

Can I simply swap out my T5500 CPU in my 1953CTO T60 with a T5600? Or my T2400 core duo in my 2623D6U T60?
