Re: FrankenPad help?
Read what you find on the forum. The major choice you are facing when purchasing a motherboard is if you want to go the safe Intel route, the little bit daring pre-08/08 Nvidia route, or the safe and expensive Nvidia NOS route (If still available)
The practical part of the project has few catches if you are comfortable opening up and disassembling a laptop. But make sure to pay attention to what is said about the screw attachment for the modem: its location and the need to grind it down / away. Apart from the general care when taking a laptop apart, I think this was the single thing I noticed that could be critical. You can theoretically force the whole thing back together with the attachment still present, but it will make contact wit the board, and short and damage your new board.
