Alt key failure

I opened up my X61s recently and my Alt key no longer functions correctly after putting everything back together. In Windows, pressing it causes beeps and has the effect like Alt+F4. This is the second keyboard on which I have had this happen. Any ideas why?
T430: i7-3632QM, 12GB, 1080p IPS, 2x256GB SSD, NVS 5400M
X220 (work): i7-2620M, 16GB, IPS, 512GB SSD
X61s: L7700, 6GB, 64GB SSD
