I had an old Z61m project that got back-burnered some time ago due to non-functioning WiFi slot. However, due to cleaning out of my old PATA notebook drives, I traded for a working Z61m "bottom". It's been a fun little project, and got all the old upgrades that the original machine was supposed to get such as a T7200 CPU, set of 2Gb sticks of RAM (yes, I'm aware of the BIOS limitation of this generation machines), a Atheros "N" WiFi card

(after an "No 1802" hack), and a 160Gb SSD.
Windows 7 loaded beautifully and it runs nicely, however I've run into a couple of head-scratchers

that have me stumped. "1", I can't seem to get any driver to work for the SD card reader. I'm 100% certain that I've gotten those readers from this gen to work under 64-bit W7 before! I've tried both the TI driver as well as the Ricoh, and can't get either to go. The second my be just one of those "cheapo" Chinese product issue, but here it is anyway in case someone recognizes the problem. I pick up a one of those generic PCI Express to USB 3.0 hoping that it'll allow me some transfer speed upgrade with all my newer external drives. So far, I haven't been able to get drivers loaded on it, and the disk is at best difficult to work with since it's apparently a "generic" load for a number of devices and not just the USB3.0 adapter!
I'm open for thoughts.
