T60p upgraded to W7

#1 Post by joester » Wed Nov 12, 2014 10:49 am

I recently acquired a T60p and was able to get it up and running on XP. All was well, but I wanted to upgrade to W7, so I did.

Now, the volume is considerably lower than it was with XP. I'm assuming it is driver related. If so, what driver should be used considering Lenovo support doesn't appear to offer a driver for the T60p running W7.

TIA.

If you are talking about the size of the HDD, W7 automagically adds a hidden partition. Dont remember how big, but you can not see it easily.

Volume as in audio.
W7 "found" it's own drivers but the volume is low even though I've got everything maxxed out.

Under W7, I have about 2/3 the volume compared to what I had under XP. No hardware changes, just drivers.
So I'm curious to know what drivers others on the forum are using on a T60 with Windows 7.

XP driver installed in compatibility mode. Pretty old one at that, from what I recall.

Are the volume buttons above the keyboard at an lower level? They do not correspond with the software controls.

Thanks for the info!
