Feeler: LF T60/T60p board with ATi graphics

#1 Post by goofyGAguy » Sun Nov 23, 2014 1:13 am

I could be in need of a T60 mobo w/ATi in the near future, and thought I'd check to see if anyone here might have one taking up space before I venture into the shark-filled waters of eBay. This would be for a 15" 4:3 machine if it matters. Thanks.

Any preference in the GPU department?

George, I will have to check on that. The machine in question belongs to a family member. The unit is showing the exact same "blink of death" symptoms as often seen on the T2x machines. :??:

the 4:3 non widescreen T60 mobo (identical for 14.1" or 15") has 5 graphics varieties:
Intel, ATI X1300, ATI X1400, ATI FireGL V5200 and ATI FireGL V5250.

I have a spare T60 mobo if you need one. I can dig it out and provide specs if you're interested.

Safe to assume you re-soldered the coils? that's what fixed my T21. Inspection with a magnifying glass revealed nothing, reflowing the solder anyway was the magic bullet.

No, I have yet to try anything other than removing the RAM, hard drive and DVD drive to see if the unit's behavior changed. Soldering anything on a motherboard would be way above my pay grade.

I have several of these boards in 4:3 and widescreen available for a very reasonable price, if none offered so far are to your liking you can send me a PM and we'll discuss it. Also if you're interested in converting to a T61 board (frankenpad) I have kits I've put together with all the parts needed and could help you do the conversion.
