Hello Guys & Girls,
I wanted to wish everyone out here on the site (including Bill Morrow) a happy Thanksgiving for you and your family.
I am grateful for a lot of things in my life during the past seven years. It's a long story but I have a roof over my head, a job (I am still figuring out if I want to do what I am doing for the rest of my life), income so I can pay the bills (mostly on time). I mostly have my health which is wonderful.
Over the seven years I grew closer to my father then I ever did in my life. I will share something that happened with this. My mom passed in 2007. About 6 months later, I went somewhere and I called my father on the phone. His words were broken up and he was crying. He said that he loved me. Now he never said those words to me before. I said that I loved him back. Don't get me wrong he was a good father, worked hard and provided a lot of things for me and he was very forgiving. I knew he loved me but I wanted to hear him say it to me for most of my life. For the next five years I would tell that I love him and he would tell me that he loved me. He would say to me to be a good boy (he was 100% Italian and in his 80s). I would tell him that I was a good boy. He passed away on 12-30-12 and I miss him greatly.
Thank you for reading and your time. I wish happiness, joy and peace to everyone out there.
Thank you,
John

Good lord!
Very touching story... I appreciate you sharing it. It's amazing you were able to get closer with your dad before he passed on too... but, such is life. Also good to hear you're doing well.
I'm currently hanging with old high school friends, and I'll be with my family where I'll have a nice big Thanksgiving dinner. It's always fun to get back to the family, and get away from the horrible brain plague we call "college".

Trying my hardest to collect Thinkpads, but college and being broke kinda gets in the way. However...

Happy Thanksgiving from Norway!
I am not into sharing personal stuff, but the first post hit me a little bit as my father-in-law in the US passed away last night. We were expecting it, but it's still hard to prepare for this. He was only in his early 60s, and it's even harder to loose someone that's really too young to pass away. It will be a bitter sweet Thanksgiving for us this year, but we are thankful for the fond memories. Thanksgiving will be celebrated with another US couple living here, so at least the food and the holiday spirit will be right.
