Estimated Ship Date
emorphien,
The UPS times are local to each location of the package. Hong Kong is 13 hours ahead of me and I think 12 hours ahead of you. That's why it can look like a package arrives in the US before it ships from HK!
Mine was picked up in HK at 5:00 PM this afternoon and arrived in Louisville at 3:00 PM this afternoon (2 hours EARLIER).
Amusing, eh?

wait time
I was just about to order DDU and the web page says that the wait time is 2-4 weeks and before it was 2 weeks. Secondly, most of 2GHz models are not there (EPP site) and all 1.86GHz models have wait times 2-4 weeks
Haha thanks. this is what I suspectedPhil_C wrote:emorphien,

Hope everyone had a good fourth.. both residents and non-residents alike. Mine would've been better had my laptop been in my possession!
Im supposed to receive it on Friday or early next week.. cuz my rep said 2 weeks from return/RMA date which is this Friday. Im not getting any hopes up cuz like most here Ive dealt with IBM before. But I don't even have a quote, so who knows.. maybe they forgot about me. They'll be getting a call today.
Cheers.

It was a good 4th, but I agree it would be better with my laptop! It's a plot to fry my mind!
First, my EJU shipped last Thursday, so I hoped to get it today. Then the UPS tracking site showed a scheduled delivery date for SATURDAY, July 2. Of course that later changed to today.
Now I'm at work, so I check the tracking again, which says the package is rescheduled for tomorrow because no one was there to accept the package today --- even though my building has a receiving room AND a 24 hour doorman, either of which will sign for packages!
It's a plot! They're out to get me! I'm going home tonight and put on a tin foil hat to shield my mind....

I liesurely checked the status of mine a few minutes ago and I got good/bad news. The good is it's already shipped! as of today which is a nice surprise, I didn't receive an email or anything -HK has it as packing/billing info received. Bad news is - they shipped it Ground!?
That'll take like 2 weeks just to travel! WTH? What happened to the 3-day select?

JiuJitsu, don't worry about it. There is no such thing as GROUND shipping from HK. Eventhough you order from IBM says GROUND, when UPS takes over, it automatically changes to Global Express. Your order will fly from HK all the way to your house, and if everything goes well with customs it will take two days from the day of shipping for you to receive your machine.

UPS returned to deliver my EJU later yesterday. I don't know if it was because I complained by phone, but --- it's here! Finally!
All is looking good so far --- perfect screen, correct parts, etc.
This thread has been "fun", but now I'm off to set up the new notebook.

Wow man, you need to play the lottery today. Seriously - go buy a ticket.

I ordered the 266875U on July 5 and it was shipped on July 6. I got all excited and couldn't believe it was processed so fast. Guess what, UPS has kept on delaying my package

Back ordered?!
OK, I'm getting pretty frustrated with Lenovo. I placed my order on 6/26 and my ship date (as shown on the Lenovo site) has already been pushed back 8 times. I e mailed my rep several times Thursday and Friday and he assured me that everything was on schedule for the original 7/11 ship date. So, I check the latest status tonight and it says back ordered! Ahh! It says to call for more information, so I do but can't get a hold of a live person. This reminds me too much of the experience I had with Dell when I ordered my desktop two years ago. Can I expect some sort of compensation for having my order delayed/back ordered or am I just $hit out of luck?

Re: Back ordered?!
Ive learned to go by what the rep says and to not pay attention to the site because it's still in the transition phase. Ive heard things from my rep that weren't backed up by the site and he always turned out to be correct. Ive had three laptops delivered to me at different times they were all delivered on time as stated by the rep, but the site still has mine on order! I would say wait until the 11th, see what happens.boilermakerinatl wrote:OK, I'm getting pretty frustrated with Lenovo. Well... first time I've posted in this thread, so a quick rundown of the story - I've been waiting on T43P availability since around February, and as of 09/06 they were finally listed on the supplier's website (I work for an IT company, so it's significantly cheaper ordering wholesale than ordering through IBM).
The order was placed that day, and I was apparently first in the queue of 9! ETA at the supplier was 12/07, but I got word yesterday (11/07) that it had arrived at their warehouse in Sydney, which is on the other side of Australia to me. Therefore, it was due to arrive today.
No further info was forthcoming, and after extensive investigations, it appears that the supplier had accidentally noted the machine as "Collect from Sydney depot" rather than "Airfreight to <our office in Perth>". Oh well - these things happen, right?
But instead of calling a courier "manually" and getting it out the door, or even calling us and asking how we'd like to proceed... they simply cancelled our order, and bumped everyone else up a place in the queue, delivering "my" machine to #2 in the queue, and re-entering our order, so now I am last in the queue, with delivery not expected for another two weeks at the earliest!!
If I had to wait 7 weeks in total it wouldn't have been so bad, but expecting to get a machine today and then being told it would be another two weeks was not much fun at all
So much for customer service...

I guess I ordered an unlucky combination. My order has been bumped 9 times, currently showing a ship date of 7/25 (ordered on 6/26). I have e mailed my rep back and forth about 10 times trying to get an explanation (calling the 866 42 THINK number did me no good, absolutely no help). What he said is that all build components have to be in the warehouse before they can build, and there have been some issues with the Intel chipset. Has anyone else heard of these issues with Intel?!
