now if this is what my order reads from the UPS website:

Does that mean that it is actually here in the US? on on route to the US? I am just curious...

It is here.
Chances are that you will get it tomorrow by 10:30am.
That will be if it gets released later today.
However, remember that IT IS UPS THAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH!!

nice. the funny thing is, the mini dock, which originated in North Carolina a day earlier, (though it is traveling by UPS Ground) has not yet arrived (though I will probably get it tomorrow considering when I just checked, it was in NJ -- and I am in NY).

It will be interesting if the package that arrived from Hong Kong gets to my house before the minidock. Though I am not going to get my hopes up -- I am sure that I will probably receive the laptop (hopefully) if not friday then hopefully by monday.

I'm very jealous. Mine won't be here for another couple weeks

I need mine before I leave for school on aug 1, and they keep telling me it Might be ready by then, but they don't know.
Do they usually overestimate shipping times to be safe, or should I really expect it when they say?

wow. I checked my tracking number this morning (for both the mini dock and my thinkpad -- separate packages), and it appears as though they will arrive together! here is what my info says (for my thinkpad )

yes it did arrive... exactly at 10am. Cant beat that for service... only 2 days for shipping. I love my new thinkpad!

Just saw that an estimated ship date for a dock/replicator is within 2 weeks.. Sheesh.. not to be an impatient [censored].. but don't they have these types of products in stock.. two weeks !? For the thinkpad.. okay.. but not for an accesory.. I would think.

Ordered a CTO machine July 21st. Heard that these take a lot longer than preconfigured machines. Shipped today, July 27th. Website said it should ship no later than Aug 19th. I'm very impressed.

It Shipped!!!!!

I ordered a T43p 2668 July 14. It just shipped today, July 27. I am VERY impressed with IBM (Lenovo)'s service considering how long the typical wait time has been in the past few months.

However, one thing that I do think is bad for Lenovo'e business is their order tracker. I was almost getting ready to cancel the order since until today the tracker said it wasn't supposed to ship until Aug. 15. ( I have to have it Aug. 15.)

I'm curious too. Mine is sitting in Ontario with a hold I haven't heard of before. I wonder how long this will take, hopefully no more than a couple hours!

Haha. Apparently so! I called and said it has left customs. The tracking info from website hasn't updated except for the status, which now says Exception. The guy on the phone at UPS promised me tomorrow by 10:30am though. Hmm, should I be late to work tomorrow morning? =P

Does UPS do saturday deliveries for Glopal Express shipments? According to UPS my thinkpad had its origin scan today at 8:00 Hong Kong time. Now judging by some of the other people's experience, it usually takes 1-2 days from the origin scan until delivery. But since tommorow is Friday, will I get it Saturday or Monday?

Jonesy, Im not sure, but I think they do complete deliveries on Saturday.. I may be mistaken though as Ive never had one done. I seem to recall others having it arrive on Sat, but Im not sure.

Talk about frustrating. Apparently a couple shipments that went out on the 26th are being held up in customs for random screenings. There are about 330 some packages being held up in Ontario, CA. So close! Lenovo rep says mostly likely get resolved sometime today and that they've been working with UPS to try to get this cleared as quickly as possible. Since tomorrow is Saturday, it'll be shipped out to me first of the month. UPS rep said about the same although both didn't sound very certain as to when it would be released. They both told me just to keep checking. I guess Saturday delivery is out of the question. What am I going to do if I have my memory and sleevecase already?? =(

Do what I did, take pictures of your useless accesorries while you wait for the main cusine.

I got my 9-cell 1.5 weeks ahead of my laptop...

Does anyone know if you order a Thinkpad that's in stock, does it ship from North Carolina or Asia? Mine went to shipped this morning, but the complete tracking # is not working yet...shows up as "1Z" which are the first two digits to a UPS tracking #.

My guess is they all ship from Asia. Friend of mine ordered an instock T42 and it shipped from the usual Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong.

I just did a cost and time calculcator on the UPS website. I should get mine on Wednesday. The cost for express shipping is 775 HKD (about $100 USD). Kind of expensive to ship, but I'm sure IBM doesn't pay anywhere near the regular rate.

For reference, I ordered the Mini-Dock 6 days ago - on Thursday the 28th and it arrived yesterday the 2nd. Shipped from Raleigh, NC and it was slated for under 2 weeks - I actually expected it to ship later than the day I ordered it. Not bad at all... check out the pics if you haven't already here:
