I have a chance to buy a decently spec'd T510, advice sought

#1 Post by db130 » Tue Dec 30, 2014 3:05 pm

I think it's time to finally upgrade from my T7200 Flexview T60. The replacement candidate is a T510 4313-CTO with the following specs:

Processor: Intel Core i5-540M (2.53GHz, 3MB L3, 1066MHz FSB)
Operating System: Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate 64 US English (OEM COA)
Display type: 15.6" FHD Display (95% Gamut, 270nit) with LED backlight
System graphics: NVIDIA NVS 3100m Graphics with 512MB DDR3
Memory: 8GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)
Keyboard: US English
Storage: 320 GB HDD 7200rpm
Optical Device: Multi Recorder Optical Drive (12.7mm)
Battery: 9 cell Li-ion Battery
Power cord: 90W AC adapter
WLAN: Intel Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250
WWAN: Integrated Mobile Brroadband (Gobi 2000 3G with GPS)

Miscellaneous:
- UltraNav(TrackPoint and TouchPad) with Fingerprint Reader
- 2.0 MP Camera
- Express Card Slot, 5-in-1 Card Reader & Smart Card Slot
- Bluetooth w/antenna integrated

Total cost to me if I were to pull the trigger would be ~$215 USD with shipping. What do you guys think?

If the machine is clean, go for it, it's a good deal. I know I would... :D

Agreed. Those are solid specs, and if the unit is in good condition, it is a great deal. Also, that FHD display is a nice upgrade in contrast and color compared to your current flexview screen (though viewing angles are worse). You will not be disappointed with it.

Sounds like a great deal, considering I've sold well running W500's for that price range with inferior specs.

Thanks, guys. I've pulled the trigger and treated myself to a new replacement keyboard for it as well. :)

That is almost exactly the specs of my last (and still running) thinkpad. Well bought!
