hdd caddy help with windows 7

#1 Post by carlos1984kid » Wed Jan 07, 2015 9:04 pm

HI everyone, I bought a vertex 3 ssd to upgrade my thinkpad t430 but come to find out that it is to thick to fit in the primary hdd slot. So I looked for a solution and found a hdd caddy that lets you remove the optical drive and use a second hard drive in its place. I managed to clone my original drive to the ssd and got it to boot properly. I then removed the old drive and started the laptop. Worked great until the laptop goes to sleep, when i log back in a message shows up saying " problem Ejecting OCZ-VERTEX3" this drive is currently in use."

So inorder to try and fix this I tried to turn sleep mode off but I would like to not have my laptop on all the time. So I remembered that when my optical drive is in lenovo power manager turn it off if not in use, so i tried looking for the option in the manager but it is not there.

Also tried in windows power options under advance settings to hard drive sleep setting to never but still getting this message. Does anyone know how to disable this message with out having to not let laptop sleep?

Why bother?
Switch it OFF when you're done!
