People, you have to listen to this!
Ignacy Jan Paderewski, a former Polish Prime Minister's Piano Concerto, Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgYKx0i6wL0
Play the youtube download between 17:15 and 27:30.
Turn up the volume, and be blown off your chair (especially around 24:45)!
Superb!
I dare ANYbody NOT to like this!

Not what I usually listen to, but a slight dose of 90's prog rock on a Saturday night here. Conception - Roll the fire.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ri52J9JEi7M
This is a norwegian band, but some of you might recognize the name of vocalist, Roy Khan, which later became the vocalist of the US band Kamelot. I never listened much to Kamelot, as my fascination for this kind of music has declined vastly over the years, but I have fond memories of what Conception did back in the days. Amongst others, this song from their 1993 album, Parallel Minds. Khan's vocal is by some ranked as close to Queensryche's Geoff Tate.

To reopen an old thread, this evening I put on an old album by Dire Straits and listened to 'Telegraph Road', 'Tunnel of Love', 'Romeo & Juliet' and it sent me back to the 1980s faster than a time machine.
Incredibly great music from really good musicians.

Mark Knopfler and John Illsley now live as neighbours on the Solent coastline between Southampton and Lymington in the New Forest National Park. A beautiful place to live and way outside my budget. John owns the East End Arms pub in a tiny village called East End. The pub serves great beers and good food. We were at the pub in February and it was packed.
Good luck to them. They lightened our lives with their great music.

Re: What music are you listening to right now?
I'm listening to some very relaxing music called "Concentration programming music."
Found on youtube. The artist has made all 4 tracks available on his dropbox. About 4.5 hours in total. I have been listening to them for weeks now. I get home from work, reboot into linux (so nice to be out of Windows), fire up the tunes in VLC and hit the web. Work has gotten super stressful (in a good way) lately, and this helps my very much. I keep meaning to copy them over to my phone also.

Re: What music are you listening to right now?
Inspired by the latest post, I have been playing Dire Strait's Greatest Hits album in the car on my way to work for a couple of days now. Some great songs there. Their Brothers in Arms was the first cassette tape I ever bought, back in 1985. I was 11 years at the time, and I remember I saved for some weeks to buy it. I still have it, but I added the CD version some years later.
Right now I listen to another band, Death Cab For Cutie. Originally a band that our youngest daughter listened to back when we lived in the US. A bit mellow, but I like it, and bought the album Plans when I found it in the store not too long ago. Some pleasant songs there, amongst others this one: Death Cab For Cutie - Brothers On a Hotel Bed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdfAAo4ReS0

Currently listening to some piano music I recorded about a month ago for someone who wanted me to produce a Christmas album for them. My Sennheiser HD-595s always do justice to symphonic style pieces.
