What Battery?

#1 Post by writegeist » Thu Jan 15, 2015 10:32 pm

Hello:

I purchased an X60s laptop at a garage sale, but it only came with the plug and not with a battery. The price was right and I really like the size of the laptop. However, I've had a horrible time trying to find a replacement battery for it, not because there aren't any batteries for it but because I can never find the correct size/shape.

I've had to eat a couple of restocking fees because of it. The pictures that companies provide don't always reflect the product they sell, a lesson I've learned the hard way. If anyone can give me a strategy for figuring out which battery to buy I would be grateful. There doesn't seem to be any indication on the computer body that provides the information I need, but maybe I'm looking at the wrong spot.

Should I find a used laptop store and see if they can help? I'm just not sure.

I can provide pictures of the machine, but I'm not sure whether that would help.

Thanks for your help.

Nice find for a very good price.
BUT, if you buy the above battery, notice the two (shiny copper) screw-holes on the left lower part.
They are for mounting this spacer that you also need:
