Click on the link and then come back to read my email to PCmag. I could have taken more time in writing my email to them but I just couldnt wait to send this girl my thoughts on what she wrote. Feel free to shoot her your thoughts.

Subject: Four Amazing Ultraportables

Hello Jennifer,

I just finished reading your article "Four Amazing Ultraportables" and found an interesting statement from you in regards to the X41. You state "It's also the only ultraportable here that has an optical drive built in, which makes it a little thicker then its slimmer ". Did you actually see the X41? It does not have an any type of an optical drive integrated. This makes me question the integrity of the article and your reporting in general. I hate to sound sarcastic but did you actually see the X41 with your own eyes? You state in the beginning of the article that "..we received, all within a few weeks.." If you actually put your hands on an X41 you would have known there was no integrated optical drive.

Possibly some people are very compter illterate and don't know how to remove the optical drive (Most newer thinkpads support hot swapping)

On top of that, doesn't the Panasonic W2 count as an ultraportable? That has an optical drive.

If this person went to my house, and looked at my computer. I'd think she would say "You have intergrated optical drives and intergrated memory"
Even if I built my own computer and my optical DVD+/-RW drive is on a rack mount that can be easily pulled out... Heh

If I didnt get such a great discount on my Thinkpads and I had more cash to blow, I would have probably purchased one of the Panasonics instead of my X41.

I will be jumping ship for the R4 (2.2lbs) or the W4(2.66lbs) with the optical dv-drw drive built in if my income changes as well as IBM quality.

If it's not built right in to the laptop itself, it's not integrated. I don't care if its a slim one that hooks up or if it's in an "ultrabase."

Agreed, I'm getting a T43p for now, but in the future I may be more interested in something smaller and lighter and Panasonic will be on my short list if I can afford one.

I'm talking about the Pansonic...
And guess what? Every kid at my middileschool is influenced by Dell's "WE GAVE OURSELFS AWARD WINNING TECH SUPORT AND GODLY TITANIUM REINFORCED MAGIC PCS OF XPS GEN 2"
Sorry, had to rant about people trusting everything on TV...

Yes, but the people there are remarkably stupid at the age of 14 to 15... "UBS FINGER DRIVE" is an good example
"Rammer Clips" Ram chips? You decide
Also, Dell isn't really cheaper
They sell you a 750 system "OMG ITS CHEAP"
But wait! Its a CELERON PROCESSOR, with 128 MB of ram, plasticy construction! 4 cell battery! Hmmmm you pay and you get what you pay for...
Anyways, its sad that people belive that the ads feed them, they stuff it into them...
They said the X41 has an intergrated optical device? Check the Panasonic out *Cough*
