How do these temperatures look?

#1 Post by Roger-H » Mon Feb 16, 2015 10:38 am

I recently acquired four Thinkpads, installed Xubuntu 14.04 on them, and ran them for four days with Psensor logging temperatures, CPU usage, and fan speed. Do any of these numbers look like I may have to crack them open and apply thermal paste?

(Note: I think I got lucky with the T61. It is an Nvidia Quadro model but manufacture date is 08/08. Plus, it's still running, which counts for something.)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The figures look fine to me, BUT...
If they were mine, I would still open all of them and replace their thermal paste with fresh AS5. You don't know how old the paste is...
And I'm sure that the fans would be quite pleased as well by getting their dust bunnies removed as well.
And it would be the perfect opportunity for you to get acquainted with their insides, esp. the X-models.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Great, thanks. Glad there's nothing urgent to deal with. I will pick some of that paste up and get to surgery when I have the chance.
