Not only the snow.
It was the ice rain and hail from Thor that caused the excessive weight.
Ours is/was a 24 ft. round pool, which holds ~ 15,300 gallons (~ 58,000 liters) of water.
During January and February temperatures were mostly of the freezing variety.
Early in February the air-bag (that keeps the pool-cover up) burst, no way to 'fix' that.
Add a few feet of snow on that, cover that with hail and freezing 'glacing', and have a nasty ice cake...
I've contacted the insurance company to find out if this is covered or not.
Probably not, as this was caused by a natural/nature disaster.
We'll see.
At least I will no longer have to waste money on the upkeep for a pool that we haven't used since 2012.
