WTB: T60/T61/T500/W500 battery
WTB: T60/T61/T500/W500 battery
I bought a cheap "new" 6-cell battery, and it arrived at 75% design capacity! To make matters worse it randomly shuts off during use, and it has swollen a little bit. I immediately stopped using it, how terrifying!
Anyway, I have my 9-cell W500 battery and it's about 67% of the original capacity. I'd like to buy either a new real battery or a used one in good shape, ideally a 6-cell.

Is this the 14" T60/15.4" T61(p) style battery? The 14" T61/T400 battery is different. If the former, I may have one (6C) in good shape. If that's what you need I'll check it for you.

If they are different then no, this would be the 15.4" style battery (I have a 15.4" W500).

Re: WTB: T60/T61/T500/W500 battery
I have several Genuine batteries, 6 and 9 cell that will fit your model. The prices range from $25 or $20 each for multiple purchases. (reads good in power manager) to $60 for one in new condition and several in nearly new condition for $40-$50.
Shipping to a usa address is a flat $6 for quantity of 1 to 6 batteries (6 cell) or 1 to 4 (9cell)
Your experience with the generic battery is common, they often come degraded and shut off the laptop before reaching 0%. I've even seen some with manufacturing dates in the future. All of these symptoms are typical of poor quality parts but the real concern is if they have the required protection circuitry to avoid fires. Normally when they are imported from Asia they are inspected to assure they are properly certified, but new free-trade laws allow personal shipments to leave the country and many escape testing this way. If you're going to use generic batteries it's important to get one from a verified importer, never from an auction site and don't trust a battery just because it has a lenovo logo, forged brand names are extremely common in China. There isn't much they don't make knock-offs of. Some countries even make fake Big Macs at "Mash Donalds", or "Ma Donals", both in the middle east. If you do want a decent generic Anker batteries aren't bad.
