Hello,
I fumbled while typing too fast and hit a key combo(s) that did two things at once: my display went from the external monitor to duo-monitors (laptop screen and external monitor both activated) and also the display went to full screen mode so everything is distorted and huge. I was able to get it back to just the external monitor via control panel but I am not able to get out of that horrid full screen zoomed in mode.
Upon googling for info I found out that the Fn + Space bar changes display to full screen mode, and so I may have accidentally done that, but hitting that combo again does not make it go back to how it was...it just keeps getting bigger.
Going into Control Panel and activating the magnifier tool does nothing as well. I can keep making the display screen larger but I cannot make it smaller than what it changed to after hitting whatever keys I hit.
I also noticed my display resolution settings had changed in control panel so I changed them back to what they were which should be as follows:
Display: generic monitor (my external monitor)
Resolution: 1280 x 800
Orientation: Landscape
Multiple Displays: Show desktop only on 2
But that made it worse. And it's still in full screen mode vs. landscape, even though it says it's in landscape (my monitor is not a wide-screen monitor).
I also went into my NVIDIA control panel and the resolution had changed on that as well so I changed it back to 1280 x 800 and that did nothing.
I am at a complete loss as to what I can do to fix this. Thanks in advanced to anyone who can help me figure this out!
EDIT TO ADD: I just switched my display to the Laptop monitor and all is fine here, so it's just the external monitor I am not able to get back to where the display does not fill the entire size of the monitor and distort everything.
Mel

Re: T410 Display is stuck in Full Screen mode
I'm assuming that your T410 is running Windows 7. If so, then WinKey+P is the keyboard shortcut to control the state of the external monitor. The other thing that could affect the external monitor is Fn+F7.
Not sure what you mean by "full screen mode vs. landscape" but I think your problem is the fact that your external monitor does not have a widescreen aspect ratio. What is the brand and model number of the external monitor?

Try Fn+Spacebar with the mouse/pointer on the external screen.
