Best Replacement Batteries for W700/W701 ??

#1 Post by droolface » Wed Apr 08, 2015 5:43 pm

Hey folks. No doubt many of you who own W700 or W701s have picked up replacement batteries. The genuine article is $160 at a minimum on ebay. But in general I hesitate to buy reproduction batteries. These things can be dangerous - it's not worth risking a fire/explosion to save a few $.

That being said, has anyone had any good experiences with a particular replacement battery for these? Or does anyone know where to pick up a genuine one for a better deal?

THANK YOU!

I personally don't see a problem with the replacement ones, have a cheap replacement one in my T63p and had no problem with it. There are many safer replacement choices in China, and some of the replacement ones works even better than the original ones.
Also, I don't get the point of the battery in W7**... The battery is just a drop in the bucket for those power hungury monsters... Also hose behemoths do not throttle when a battery is not presented, unlike the ordinary X and T series. The battery in my W701 has only 19.74Wh out of the designed 84.24Wh. When it's dead, I'll probably just use the W701 without a Battery.

Non-OEM batteries (cheap) tend to have lower quality cells, that wear much faster than original ones.
I don't agree about battery in W700, it holds charge at least for 1:30, enough to survive lecture in class without power sockets.

Also, I bought new, original one last november for $65 on ebay, was shipped from Netherlands.
