x201 blank LCD and indicators except for bluetooth

#1 Post by jollybard » Mon Apr 13, 2015 1:33 am

I have disassembled and reassembled my x201 in order to clean the fan. Now, the indicators don't work and neither does the screen. Everything else seems to work just fine: I plugged an external monitor and everything worked. The bluetooth indicator lights up with power-on. The LCD cable seems to be attached just fine, though I'm not sure about the other ones.

Did I break something? What should I do?

I thought about opening the screen and checking the connections, maybe I unplugged something inside by pulling something too hard, but it seems like a pretty delicate operation and I'm worried I'd break something else.

Thanks!

It could be any of the following:

1. Loose connector
2. Damaged cable or connector
3. blown fuse/ damaged electronics on the board -- did you remove the battery before disassembling the unit?
Daily driver: X220 4291-P79 i5-2520M

In reserve: X61 T7500, X60 T2300
In pieces: X60s CS U1300 [board only], two retired but working X61Ts
RIP: 760XD 9546-U9E

1. Seems unlikely since I screwed it all the way on
2. I can't see any dommage, but it does seem to be the most likely reason
3. Yes, I removed the battery and unplugged the AC.
