{SOLVED} X220, how does the magnet for the lid look like?

#1 Post by PandorasThinkpad » Sun Apr 19, 2015 12:01 am

Hi folks!

I have an X220, the most actual thinkpad i own.....and there nothing happens when i close the lid, even if i have chosen energy saving or suspending in windows....so it seems to be the same thing like it is at my T410s (just take a look at the thread http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=113942 ), the sensors in the lid work fine, i have tested this with an magnet.....but in the palmrest on both machines the magnet is missing....

At the X220 the sensor is located at this place Image what and where is the part in the palmrest?

Found it out, on the X220 the magnet is located in the base, near the loudspeaker cable on the right side.....here is a picture where it must be located in the base....Image...and here it is, sitting in the base...Image

And if it is missing completely which other magnet will i be able to use instead of it? How strong should it be and what messures should it have?

In this case there might be an useful information in the german forum.....just take a look in this thread...http://thinkpad-forum.de/threads/187025 ... ost1882308

Sincerly,
