Re: Feeler: X60 tablet SXGA with ultrabase, SSD and Genuine windows 8.1 pro
I can only address the question by comparison. For about as much as you are asking, on thee occasions, I have purchased X61T tablets, upgraded to 8GB of memory, installed a 750GB Seagate Momentus XT hybrid hard drive, Intel 5300AGN wireless Bluetooth 2.1, and installed a licensed Windows 7/64 bit.
The differences between the X61 chipset and that of the X60 are significant. The X61T accepts 8G of RAM; the X60, only 4. With the Middleton BIOS, the X61 chipset runs SATA2 at twice the interface speed of the SATA1 interface of the X60.
The integrated graphics of the X61 has programmable pixel pipelines. The X60 does not. Hence the X61 supports OpenGL 2.0; the X60 does not. As an artist, I use these tablets for drawing. The X61 is likely to remain software compatible a little longer than the X60. All of the packages I use, Artrage and Corel Painter 2015, are moving towards dropping 32 bit support. In Windows 8.1, Painter requires 64 bit. With the 2G of RAM in what you are offering, or even 4G, the size of the canvas becomes rather limited.
On several occasions, I've posed the question to this forum whether the X61 tablet is fully functional under Windows 8.1. The partial answers suggested "no." To be useable to an artist, all the functionality of the Windows Tablet utilities should be there. On my tablets, the Wacom pressure sensitive driver, which must be downloaded directly from the Wacom website, is fully functional. Is yours? Do you have the tablet helper menu? Can you control wireless, screen brightness, pen parameters, etc., without the keyboard? Is the Lenovo power manager utility installed and functioning? Can you control battery charging thresholds? The last time I asked about Windows 8.1, the answer was no.
So in terms of use by an artist, who uses memory-hungry programs, your tablet will soon be a collector's piece, rather than a user's tablet. I am an artist, and I can't draw with it. It's slower than my tablet, it has less RAM, it is less compatible, and the price is about the same as what I put into each of my three X61T tablets.

For the OP, you'll have a much better sale if you install an X61 tablet motherboard, as that'll solve all of the above listed problems with it from a hardware/softer interoperability standpoint. It should cost you very little to do so, yet it will raise the value of the machine substantially, as you have a highly saught-after LCD.
For reference, I bought a machine much like yours (without SSD) for $60 a few months ago.

Give your T43/T43p/R52/X41 the SATA it deserves! http://mikejmoffitt.com/sata

That's a very good deal!!!! But it hurts.Bibin wrote: For reference, I bought a machine much like yours (without SSD) for $60 a few months ago.
I was thinking of putting a X61 tablet motherboard in. But I just don't want to spend money before I earn some money. I've spent way too much on my W701 and W701ds :/
But I agree with you that X61 tablet is much better, I even struggled to find SLIC 2.1 and whitelist removed BIOS for X60 tablet :/ And that's why I put windows 8.1 from my college on it

People have installed drivers for the tablet buttons and hotkeys.
TBH I just want to sell the tablet, so I haven't really investigated into the issues. For my personal use, I'd get windows 7 and X61 tablet (or X61 tablet motherboard) just as you. X60 tablet only takes 3GB RAM, which is just way too little for me.
