New illuminated keyboard - can it be that it is flimsier?

#1 Post by PRAGUEGUY » Tue Apr 28, 2015 9:14 am

I got it...after I damaged the normal one.
The illumination is ok... now I feel that it is somehow flimsier, come of the keys, right left up down, esc, feel as if they had a cheaper crackling haptic feel...

anybody has any comments? I have had it for a day...I no not know I they would give me the normal one. It definitely feels a bit cheapo...but I do not know if it is just placebo/buyer remorse or can anybody confirm a similar issue? thanks

There are different manufacturers for the keyboards, so not all keyboards will have the exact same feel. The classic keyboard manufacturers were Alps, Chicony, and NMB. For the chiclet ones, I believe Chicony and 2 other different manufacturers make them.
Current Thinkpads: W530 (functional classic keyboard mod), X301, T61, T60, T43, T23, 600X, 770
Other: mk5 Toughbook cf-19, mk1 Toughbook cf-53
