X-Series -- Tcpa/tpm chip

#1 Post by M0rk » Sun Jun 20, 2004 3:53 am

Hello,
I want to ask wich model-number of the X-Series was the last with no
tcpa hardware chip, known as ESS (Embedded Security Subsystem). The System contains
of the ESS software and, very important for me, the tcpa compatibly Chip wich
i defently not want.
In the "newer" models X30,X31,X40 you can find this chip.
But the X23 had already this Chip ?

Sorry my english is not the best, but i found no better thinkpad board in a other
language.

thanks for reply,

greets

the current X series does have it but it isnt enabled nor is there software installed for it when you get, so unless you go to IBM website and download the software needed for it you wouldnt even know its there
