WiFi problem X60s
Hello,
I just recently obtained this older IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad X60s, I installed SSD, upgraded the RAM, installed the OS, it was running perfectly smoothly, the only problem is, that no matter what I do, the wifi doesnt work.
I tried multiple wifi adapters, all behave the same, system doesnt recognize them in device manager, nor does the intel/lenovo wifi software utility, I tried all the guides on different forums on how to install the driver correctly, but nothing have worked so far. Altho, when I insert a non-Lenovo wifi card, the system halts, making me believe the slot is working and is recognizing the wifi card.
At this point, I would like to flash custom BIOS and try to use different wifi card. Is this possible when the BIOS is password locked(dont know the password)?
I have searched everywhere for those BIOS-es, but found out, they are only distributed here trough PMs. I am fairly good with PCs, so no need for long explanations, with ROM file, I could flash it trough external BIOS programmer, if the BIOS lock will be a problem.
Thanks for info and suggestions / Sorry, if this isnt the correct approach, did not have alot time to search trough all of the topics.

Read the instructions and select the last download option in that post: https://www.sendspace.com/file/s19w8b
It has Slic2.1 and the Whitelist removed.
BUT!
You cannot flash the BIOS until you remove the password!

Well, before I get to unlocking the BIOS, are there any other possibilities of getting the stock wifi to work? Maybe something I missed?

Did you forget the slider on the bottom/front of the laptop, that switches wifi On (green)/Off (black)?

Everything is turned on, hardware/software , but only the bluetooth icon is backlit, under the LCD. I read some guides about first installing the control center app, then hotkeys app, and 11 other steps, but it still didnt install the wifi driver correctly in the end. I am running Win 7 Ultimate, fully updated, with every other driver, I tried multiple drivers from Lenovo/Intel website, but neither worked.

Re: WiFi problem X60s
Given that the BIOS is locked, the wireless card may very well be disabled there...
