Is there any thought on doing something for the X300/X301 at this stage?
X301 seems like a better choice than the X201.

I was kidding about ten, but I'd commit to at least two, probably four.DaKKS wrote:One would be quite enough for me, i'd rather be careful haha. I might work for a printing company, but i don't think the bosses would be fine with us printing money on our off hours.
the bios is based AMI,aptioV,and you can use the ambcp V5.0 to open it.rthur wrote:I'm definitely interested in a couple, especially if the bios is open source (eg coreboot based).
So... "no". It's somewhat customizable using AMI's config tool, but there is no source.chenq wrote:the bios is based AMI,aptioV,and you can use the ambcp V5.0 to open it.rthur wrote:I'm definitely interested in a couple, especially if the bios is open source (eg coreboot based).

When some of the final version of X62 produced(should be on March),we want to start the project of X202 which will be specified for X200/X201 and T70 for T60/T61. but this will be one or two months later.

X301 seems like a better choice than the X201.

I think it needs a different lcd cable as well. But its a moot point since the LCD is practically impossible to find. At least in good nick.TonyJZX wrote:A question...
how much is this screen and where can you get it from?
SXGA+ IPS/AFFS with resolution 1400 x 1050
i assume it just screws into the frame and plugs into the board

There is an AFFS display with LVDS which I use in my X301, but it requires extensive modding. I too would be happy about a modern mainboard with eDP, allowing something like the MacBook Retina Display to be used plug and play.x3o2 wrote:Lots of us would like to see a better panel inside their e.g. X301. There is none for the LVDS display interface.
I think I've followed your three takes to mod the display on your X301 in another forum. I thought you didn't make it work!?600X wrote:There is an AFFS display with LVDS which I use in my X301, but it requires extensive modding.

Agreed. The 14" wide machines will be tricky though as there aren't any modern 14" 16:10 screens around that would be suitable.x3o2 wrote:Either way, it'd make much sense to update the panels for some TPs, like the X201, X301 and the T61 14,1'' wide too.
They all are great machines (with a modern mobo even greater) with one thing in common: lousy displays.
To find an exactly fitting panel will be tricky, so I'll be willing to take some disadvantage.600X wrote:Agreed. The 14" wide machines will be tricky though as there aren't any modern 14" 16:10 screens around that would be suitable.

Hope, to sell to the West, you just need a Paypal account.hopejyb wrote:... we are about to produce the final version late this month or on March.
The price of X62 mainboard including i7-5500u/5600u is about USD $430(2800yuan RMB).
