Recently I tried to test the stability of my newly coming Thinkpad by using Prime95 because I voltdown the CPU. Yesterday I burned it for 20 hours without any problems, but then it restarted automatically after another 30 minute stress testing. I don't really know what it means by restarting the machine automatically, but I think this is a sign of instability. Am I right on this?
By the way, T43p is really hot... that's why I have to voltdown the CPU and see if there is any improvement. I don't know how low you guys voltdown your 770. For me, I set the 16x voltage to be 1.116v and it looks like working fine (except the issue I mentioned above). However, the temperature is still high (65C at full speed, and 48 at minimum speed). Can anyone post their results over here?

i have already downvolted my centrino dothan 715 (1.5GHz).
I don't know exactly the technique you used but after few experiments i think this steps are the easier/faster ones :
pink is for default values, green/blue border is the factory setting for each frequency, red is when i undervolted and it freezed, orange is when the stability was not so good (planting by prime95,...).

Keep also in mind to reincrease the vcore by 2-3 steps once you get the crashpoint (just to be sure that the stability is not only for a certain environment, i mean temperature, humidity, pressure?,... can change a little the border of the crashpoint).
So, to answer your question try to increase a bit the vcore and see if the same crash happen ...
Concerning software, i began with rmclock and mobmeter, and i discovered on this forum the centrino hardware control (described in the link).

- fix the cpu to its max frequency, down the vcore step by step until you see your laptop freezing.
Make the same thing for the min frequency.
If you represent the two vcore's limits on a bi-dimensional graph (vcore as X, frequency as Y), you can obtain something like this (this graph stand for my cpu) :

I would recommend just using the notebook for a week. If you notice any instability, you can always revert back to default voltage settings.
