T420 Screen Upgrade

i am upgrading the screen in my T420 to a HD+ screen however I am unsure of the part number of the new screen cable I need.

Can someone please give me the T420 HD+ compatible screen cable for the upgrade?

Welcome to the forum.

You do NOT need to replace the LCD cable when upgrading from HD to HD+ on these machines.

Uh, George, the T420 HMM has two different FRUs for the LCD cables: 04W1617 for HD and 04W1618 for HD+. Are they truly compatible with the HD and HD+ screens?

I'm basing what I've written on a single personal experience of buying a T420 with a busted HD panel and dropping a HD+ one inside. It was plug & play.

Now, short of me driving to Harrisburg and ripping the customer's system apart I have absolutely no means of verifying which LCD cable was in there... 8)
