Flashing an X61s with Middleton bios

#1 Post by JPOESQ » Fri Jul 17, 2015 8:04 pm

I apologize if this has already been asked and answered, but I had some time on my hands today and decided to flash my X61s by booting from a CD. Each time that I boot, the flash process fails and tells me that I need to disable bitlocker. However, I decrypted the drive before flashing. Any ideas?

Just pull the hard drive out altogether and call it a day...

Good luck.

Make sure flash over lan is enabled in the network section of you bios as well.

I had just about come to that conclusion, and will give that a try.

Yes, I found that out when the machine threw an error telling me that flash over lan was not enabled.

Thank you gentlemen. I will try again when I return to the office on Monday.

As it turns out, pulling the SSD didn't make any difference and the flash software still gave a bitlocker error message and failed. The solution was to go into the bios and completely purge the security chip.
