Please help: T60 shut itself down and does not start anymore

#1 Post by ThinkB » Mon Jul 20, 2015 4:14 pm

Hello,

A few minutes ago my T60 shut itself down and it does not start anymore.
I use Xubuntu. It happened after I cleaned my screen and keyboard with a little bit wet cloth. But, this is something I have always done. It starts sometimes, but when it is in the ThinkPad beginning screen it shuts itself down again.
What could be the reason for this?

No. When I plug the power cable it charges. So, at least that is not defect

Liquid spill onto the motherboard.

Unplug all non-essential devices from the unit, leaving things such as the motherboard, ram, cpu, and heatsink installed only. Re-seat the CMOS battery as well. Then try plugging in the unit and turning it on. You can find the manual by clicking on 'HMM' at the top of the site, or on Lenovo's site.

If there were liquid spills, remove the motherboard from the laptop and let it dry for a few days.
