#1 Post by elmalloc » Thu Jun 02, 2005 5:43 pm

Hello,

Does anyone hav ea good recommended external mouse (USB) for my thinkpad, that doesn't make a lo to fnoise when clicking on it? Any mouse out there that doesn't make any click noise at all? the laptop's mouse buttons are pretty low in volume, but I'm no good withe stub mouse (X40).

Thanks,

Well I'm not sure about clicking, about every mouse I used always makes a loud "click" on spring return... I would look for something with a short button press depth.

OK Thanks. The thinkpad's mouse clicks are very quiet, wonder if I can find a mouse that clicks taht quiet. It's annoying to click this loud wheN I'm in a silent room with others trying to work....

G'day ELmOh.. I am in the same category. I hate most mice manufactured today. All them are noisy! Someone playing a game on a nearby 2nd computer can drive me crazy with their incessant clicking. I've looked into touch pads that can emulate mouse operation. An example of what I am referring to is:

With this, you can alternatively double-tap on the pad to emulate the standard left-click.

Let me know if you discover a solution!

I will keep searching. My X40 has no touchpad (which I like). I'm getting very quick with the stub pointer though, but it is sometiems uncomfortable to use after 4 hours of programming.

I will do some harder searching soon.

My IBM mouse from 1987 has a very quiet click, but then again it isn't very ergonomic.
