how did all of you guys pay for your notebooks from bill? i don't know if i really want to pay cold cash, but it seems like i can get the best prices from him if i do that, and it will make for a better deal for him. i guess the question is, should i use paypal or check or money order? what did all of you guys use?

If I get a laptop from Bill...is it under IBM's 30 day money back gurantee(buying from IBM)? or is it same as buying from an on-line store?

According to IBM, buying from a VAR, such as Bill, does not entitle the purchaser to IBM's 30-day money back gurantee. I am not sure if Bill is able to work around this or not or if Bill offers a similar deal.

according to what I have heard bill will take the computer back on an exchange for a two week period or I think you can return it for a 6% restocking fee. But you should really ask Bill to personally verify that ... bill@thinkpads.com

not to jack the thread or anything but it does kinda realte to buying from Bill ... after you place your order how long does it take Bill to get the computer? Obviously assuming he doens't have it in stock and has to get it from IBM.

Not much Bill can do. Some of the new TP have not been released. Lots are waiting on the 2373KXU, which is the top of the line TP42p.

In the past I have found that if IBM has it Bill can get to you within a few days, MUCH faster than others. If he has it in stock and Bill gets the money, he can and will ship the same day.

The problem is getting the unit from IBM. Bill does better than most!
