t22 internal speakers gone ?

#1 Post by hhhh » Fri Jun 03, 2005 4:58 am

Hi!

All of a sudden the internal speakers of my t22 went silent. Using a headphones, everything is working fine. (even the beep when entering wrong startup password is audible via headphones)

Is it safe to say that internal speakers are gone, and not for example the mobo ?

When the speakers worked, they made a popping sound when the computer started. I don't know if this is normal.

UPDATE:
I took out the speaker module, and tested it by using my other laptop and a bare end leads coming from the headphone jack. Music was heard :). I cleaned the contacts on both speakers and the moterboard. No dice.

So I guess it's the motherboard... :(.

Yes, this happens (rare) on some T2* boards.

You could try a BIOS flash but the board is still likely dead.
